Principal’s Report
Hi Parents, Caregivers, Community and Friends,
I am not sure if it just a result of getting older, but I cannot believe we are already halfway through 2023. But what a fantastic start to the year it has been.
This time of the year is always exciting for us, as we get to experience and enjoy the progress students make, and the developing confidence and belief that comes along with the learning.
Last week, our teachers shared with you the progress your children have made in the first two terms of the year. It was a terrific opportunity to share successes, and talk more about the approaches and supports we can put in place for your children to support their development for the rest of the year.
This morning, at our special NAIDOC assembly, we recognised the contribution of First Nations elders. We also said goodbye to two staff members who have contributed so much to Snug Primary – teacher Amanda Duggan, and groundsman Dave Groves. We wish them the very best in the next chapter of their lives.
This evening, our amazing 1/2 team will be running a movie screening, fundraising for their excursion to the observatory earlier in the term. What a lovely way to round off the term.
To all of you, thank you for the support you have given us so far in 2023. We are proud we are a community school, and we are lucky to have you as our community.
Please enjoy the holidays with your families, be safe and kind to each other. I look forward to seeing you all in Term 3.

Kath’s Spot
What do holidays mean for you? As you think about them coming up, does stress rise within you? Or do you look forward to turning off the alarm clock and not having to pack school lunches?
Whatever the feeling is, keep in touch with other around you. Make sure you connect with a friend, or with family, or a neighbour along the way. Let them know how you are traveling or if you need a hand.
Head on out for a walk and make sure you get a bit of sunshine on your face, and wind in your hair, and hopefully we may all be able to avoid some of the rain during the two weeks!
Keep safe everyone, and we will look forward to seeing you all again very soon.
We also wanted to say a very special thank you for all of the wonderful support both Dave and Mrs Duggan have been to all of us, and my family, throughout the many years they have worked here at Snug Primary School. I think Mrs Duggan was the only teacher here to have taught all four of my boys, and Dave has certainly worked his talents teaching my boy to play his guitar, which we’ll be forever grateful for. We will certainly miss you both!
Many blessings
