Principal’s Report
Hi Parents, Families and Community
Following on from yet another successful Book Week, there are plenty other events on our Snug Primary calendar in coming weeks to link with you, our amazing community.
Winter Feast: Our School Association is gearing up for next Friday (8 September), and our schools (end of) Winter Feast. There will be food trucks on site, a barbecue with sausages, salmon and vege burgers, pulled pork, drinks etc. It’s a nice opportunity to gather for a few hours as a community and spend some time together. We hope you can make it! Times are 4.30pm – 7.30pm.
Please bring cash, preferably small denominations, to make the buying and selling of food fast and easy. Additionally, we are still looking for a FEW VOLUNTEREERS to help with the barbecue, and monitoring the firepits. Also, if there is anyone with their RSA (Responsible Serving of Alcohol) permit we would love to hear from you. Please call the school if you can help in any way - 6267 9230.
Father’s Day breakfast: To all of our wonderful dads, male caregivers, and other important men in our students’ lives, a reminder we have a stand up Fathers Day breakfast from 7.40-8.40am on Monday morning. Pop by, grab a brekkie roll or some muesli, and touch base – we’d love to see you!
Italian Day: Have a think about a costume for your child(ren) for our inaugural Italian Day, which will take place on Thursday 14 September. Come dressed in Italian colours – green, red, or white, or in their sporting blue; or maybe you have an idea for an Italian themed costume? A gladiator, or a Ferrari driver perhaps?
School Satisfaction Survey 2023: The 2023 School Satisfaction Surveys is open. Every year the Department of Education conducts a School Satisfaction Survey to find out what your child(ren)'s school does well and where it may improve. We would be grateful if you completed our online survey about Snug Primary School. Your feedback is very important to help us inform our school-planning and decision-making. The survey is open from Monday 28 August 2023 until Friday 22 September 2023 and should take about 5 minutes to complete. Take the online survey by clicking on this link or pasting this link in your browser:
The survey is carried out on a secure website and all responses are anonymous and confidential. All families in this school received the same survey link and no identifying information is collected. A summary of the survey results will be provided to schools. Responses from individuals or small groups will NOT be disclosed to any Department of Education staff. Please contact us if you require any assistance.
Lunch Provision Last but definitely not least, thank you so much to everyone who provided feedback around our lunch provision program, particularly constructive suggestions of ways that we can improve this for our students and families. As of Term 4, we will be making some alterations to our weekly menus and are also currently in the process of exploring online payment ordering options such as Qkr! Watch this space and thank you again!
Kind regards

When I was growing up, I was from a family with six siblings, (I was the youngest), and I always remember my mum saying “hands are for serving”. We would be asked to help in many ways, to carry out jobs around the house, to help both our family and those within our community and surrounding areas. I know with a house of eight people, if we all got in and helped out, tasks then felt like fun and also with lots of hands it didn’t take long at all. If one of us was left to do the job for all of us, it would take ages!
Here at Snug Primary School, our students have been working this week on the habit of the mind “hands are for helping”, knowing that part of working in community is learning to help and serve those around us. In the process on helping others, I always feel like I have learnt a valuable skill, and have been blessed in some way myself too. And I don’t think I am on my own when I say that. Which goes to say that if you ask for help, you too are providing an opportunity for others to learn and be blessed also. So please don’t ever feel like by asking for assistance that you are bothering others - far from it!!
Next week, Friday 8th September from 4:30-7:30pm, we have our Winter Feast at Snug Primary, a perfect opportunity for us all to gather together and enjoy time as a community. It is also a wonderful opportunity to show our students how we use our hands for helping, as there will be opportunities to serve on the night! The school association team would love to hear from you, you can leave your name and contact details at the office, they would love to hear your preference as to how you can help whether it be on the BBQ, drinks station, set up, clean up, or on one of the other roles they will need to fill. Thanks for being willing to help our community! A little bit of time can make such a big difference for a lot of people! Thankyou!
