Principal’s Report
Hi Parents, Families and Community
Book Week Parade
Always a community favourite, it’s Book Week next week, with our Book Week Parade taking place Wednesday 23 August at 9.15am in the gym. Have a dig through the dress up box and let’s see what amazing book characters appear at school next week.
Green and Gold Day
Oh well. The Matildas didn’t quite get over the line, but it was terrific to see our students in Green and Gold on Wednesday in support of our amazing team. Lets hope we can finish in third places instead!
Brixhibition Lego Competition
A reminder, student creations for the Brixhibition Lego competition are to come to school next Thursday 24 August. The Lego creations need to have the student’s name, year level and class taped underneath. They will be judged by a panel of staff, with prizes for Kinder/Prep, Years 1 and 2; Years 3 and 4; and Years 5 and 6, with an overall winner too.
Outdoor Learning Area
Our new outdoor learning area will be officially opened next Tuesday, 22 August at 11.30am. The fantastic space sits at the back of the oval and will be ideal for classes to do some learning during our Spring and Summer days!
School Satisfaction Survey
Please keep an eye out for a link to our 2023 School Satisfaction Survey, which will be released on Monday 28 August. This is a good opportunity to provide feedback to us on what we’re doing well, and highlight areas where we can make improvements. We would really appreciate if you could take the time to complete it, as your input is crucial to us.

Kind regards
Blair Curtis

Kath’s Spot
The Matildas, Australia’s women’s football (soccer) team, have recently been our nations sense of “Community”. They have helped us to come together as a nation, to support these inspirational players, and they have helped us connect with others in our community that we might not previously have had a common bond, or a subject matter to talk together about. Together our school proudly wore our green and gold colours throughout the week, in support of this team, and the efforts they have taken to inspire our nation in the Women’s World Cup.
Here at Snug Primary, our habit of the mind this week has been focussed on Community, and we have been working on supporting and uplifting one another to build a strong sense of belonging and community. Not only can well known soccer stars build a strong sense of community, but we too, can make an effort to include others in our day to day tasks, and to help create moments and a culture of community.
Next month, we will be running our Winter Feast, and it is a wonderful opportunity for our Snug Community to come together, share good foods, have great chats, listen to some awesome music, sit back with a lovely coffee, or a mulled wine or non alcoholic warm cider, and enjoy time together. We want everyone to feel like they belong, and for everyone to know that they too can play a part in serving or enjoying being a part of the community. Please come and share with us on September the 8th! We all need community, even when we least feel like it!
Many Blessings
